Technology infrastructure career pathway
AimHigh Certified Data Center Technician
Build practical hardware, server, infrastructure, and data center operations skills through a structured six-month workforce training experience.
Eligible SNAP participants may access training at no cost following eligibility confirmation and program acceptance.
Develop essential knowledge of computer hardware, networking, servers, storage, virtualization, and enterprise operations.
Practice the safety, documentation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and escalation habits used in modern data center environments.
Connect technical learning with workforce readiness, employer expectations, and entry-level infrastructure support roles.
Six-month learning sequence
From IT foundations to enterprise operations.
The pathway progresses deliberately from core technical concepts into hands-on data center operations and an integrated capstone experience.
IT Foundations
Computer, networking, workplace, and data center fundamentals for participants entering the technology field.
CompTIA A+ Core 1
Hardware, networking technologies, storage, virtualization, power systems, and hardware troubleshooting.
CompTIA A+ Core 2
Operating systems, Windows and Linux administration, security fundamentals, documentation, and software troubleshooting.
Server Infrastructure
Enterprise server architecture, rack infrastructure, storage, virtualization, high availability, and infrastructure scaling.
Data Center Operations
Data center design, power, environmental controls, safety, cabling, physical security, and operations practice.
Enterprise Operations
Monitoring, backup and recovery, continuity, disaster recovery, performance management, and enterprise troubleshooting.
Applied technical experience
Practice before the pressure is real.
Virtual simulations help participants translate technical concepts into repeatable operational decisions—from rack and cabling fundamentals to monitoring and incident response.
- Hardware assembly and rack-and-stack practice
- Cabling, storage, RAID, and virtualization simulations
- Power, environmental control, and physical security scenarios
- Backup, recovery, monitoring, and incident response exercises
Virtual Data Center Build
Participants bring the program together by planning a virtual data center environment and presenting its infrastructure, storage, backup, security, monitoring, and disaster-recovery approach.
Career direction
Prepare for infrastructure support opportunities.
The program is designed to build readiness for entry-level roles where reliable systems, careful documentation, and disciplined troubleshooting matter.
Certification and credential alignment
Technical foundations with a workforce purpose.
CompTIA A+ Core 1 & Core 2
Foundational coverage across hardware, networking, operating systems, security, virtualization, and troubleshooting.
CompTIA Server+
Foundational preparation across server deployment, administration, security, data center operations, performance, and troubleshooting.
Certified Data Center Technician
A program credential recognizing successful completion of required AimHigh learning, assessment, lab, and capstone components.
Industry certification requires successful completion of the applicable certification provider’s examination and is not guaranteed by program participation.
